Helping to keep Californians informed about how their tax dollars are spent, Assembly Republicans today launched California Budget Fact Check, an interactive website dedicated to providing key budget facts.

"This website will help taxpayers wade through budget fact rather than fiction," said Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway, of Tulare. "Assembly Republicans put great value in how the state spends the people's money. We also want this website to serve as an opportunity for Californians to allow their voice to be heard during the budget process."

The interactive website allows visitors to submit their cost-savings and government reform ideas by email or video. The website will include polls about budget proposals and will be continually updated throughout the year with the latest budget news, statistics and developments.

"A wide variety of state agencies and other non-partisan organizations compile interesting statistics about the budget.  However, there often isn't a context for this information.  Our website, California Budget Fact Check, will distill all the information into one 'go-to' location to make it easy for Californians to learn more about state spending," said Assembly Budget Vice Chair Jim Nielsen, (R-Gerber).

The website also includes social media features so that visitors may easily share content on platforms including Twitter and Facebook.
