Government Reform
As a matter of principle, government must always be accessible to the citizens it serves. Unfortunately, too much that happens in Sacramento occurs behind closed doors. A recent report card issued by a national government watchdog group gave California a D on a state government transparency report card. Many decisions are made literally in the middle of the night, when no one is watching. Several proposals have been introduced to increase sunshine in state government.
