The Green Agenda Hits Home

Waste water removal isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. Our homes need it, our communities need it, and because of that, extreme environmentalists know that they can use it to manipulate the hardworking people of California.

Just last week, the California Water Board unanimously approved new regulations to move all septic wastewater systems to sewage. The cost of this new mandate? $20,000... to each homeowner! Even if your septic tank was put in yesterday, if you live within 200 ft of a mainline, you will be forced to pay to join your sewage system with it. This unelected board, has decided that in this struggling economy, California families have an extra $20,000 on hand.

Held on a Monday morning at 9:00 AM (while you were at work, so you could pay your taxes to fund the bureaucrats), the hearing was more like a victory party for the enviro-nazis than a public forum. The bureaucrats on the State Water Resources Control Board have no problem exploiting our communities under the environmentalist's guise of "safer groundwater". Not a single study has shown this new law's necessity. In fact, local water boards, the elected experts that actually know the effects of these mandates in their communities, were given only 2 weeks to give their input before the decree was made.

Unfortunately, with a unanimous vote, this mandate will go in to effect in 4 years. The good news, however, is that the enforcement will be left to local water boards, which are elected and accountable to you. It is imperative that we stand up and demand that our elected officials remember from where they get their authority and urge them to protect our rural communities, and our pocketbooks.

Godspeed,

Democrats Refuseto Vote on Measure Calling on the Federal Government to Reimburse California

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, R-Twin Peaks, Tuesday, presented Assembly Joint Resolution 38 before the Public Safety Committee. AJR 38, which urged Congress and the President to fully reimburse the State for the cost of incarcerating illegal alien felons, was killed because the Democrats refused to vote. The State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) is meant to reimburse the states for these expenses.

"Assembly Democrats have consistently pushed for higher taxes and new fees on California citizens to fill the gap created by their irresponsible spending habits. When it comes time to call out the Federal Government for reneging on its obligation to fund the SCAAP; however, they are silent. It seems they are perfectly happy to take money from any source, until that money interrupts their pandering to illegal aliens," said Donnelly.

California currently houses nearly 16,250 self-admitted criminal aliens. At $56,000 per inmate, per year, criminal aliens cost the State over $900 million every year. The added inmate population and increased costs have significantly contributed to over-crowding of California's prisons.

Donnelly continued, "As it stands, the Federal Government, which is responsible for illegal alien criminals, only reimburses the State pennies on the dollar. This is a slap in the face to California taxpayers. It is time for Congress to pay for the problem it created by leaving our borders wide-open."

AJR 38 died in the Public Safety Committee with Democrats not voting and Assemblyman Knight and Assemblyman Hagman voting aye.
