SAN LUIS OBISPO– Assembly Member Achadjian (San Luis Obispo) today honored Senior Master Sergeant Michael Young as the 2013 Veteran of the Year for the 35^th Assembly District during a special Armed Forces Day Celebration in San Luis Obispo. As part of his tribute to our veterans and active duty personnel, Assemblyman Achadjian authored Assembly Concurrent Resolution 28, which designates May 18^th as Armed Forces Day in California.

SACRAMENTO – Today, Assembly Bill 65, by Assemblymembers Katcho Achadjian (San Luis Obispo) and Bonnie Lowenthal (Long Beach), was approved by the Senate Public Safety Committee with a unanimous vote. The bill will bring parity to statutes relating to rape by clarifying that an attacker who coerces a victim into sexual activity by impersonating somebody else can be prosecuted for felony rape.
