Assemblyman Donnelly voted no on SB 75 (Budget Committee) which is the courts funding trailer bill. Unfortunately, the name is extremely misleading. The funding for the courts in this bill comes from increased user fees, even doubling some. The revenue gained, however, will be squandered on union giveaways and not help our courts at all. Assemblyman Donnelly voted no on AB 641 which diverts valuable and limited funding for subsidized child care from low-income working families to allow for the unionization of subsidized child care providers, including unlicensed or licensed-exempt providers. Additionally, it forces union dues or "fair share" dues on child care providers if they choose not to join a union, and could result in establishing an employer-employee relationship among families.
